CRESLOW HOARD

A discovery of fifty-nine early to mid 14th century silver coins made during our Creslow rally in August 2003. The scattered hoard was retrieved by several finders and declared treasure.

CRONDALL HOARD

In September 2004, the Weekend Wanderers held a club dig on land near Crondall in Hampshire.  The hoard of Roman silver coins was scattered over a large area.

THE PRESTWOOD
HOARDS

An unprecedented exciting day for the club as a hoard of silver Roman coins and a hoard of Roman bronze coins were discovered in July 1999 on the same day!

THE WENDOVER GRAVE

The find of a lead lamp holder leads to a cremation urn and Samian ware grave goods during a dig at Wellwick Farm at Wendover in August 2000.

THE WEST HANNEY
GRAVE

The Weekend Wanderers Summer rally of 2009 saw an amazing find of a garnet and coral encrusted brooch. It led to the recovery of an important Anglo-Saxon burial.

SOMERTON
KITCHEN
WARE

In November 2009, this new club farm in Oxfordshire saw a rare find of Roman pewter table ware that would ultimately lead to the discovery of a new Roman villa.

THE  ROPLEY
GRAVE

Following many years of club digs on this Ropley field, a chance discovery of a late Iron Age cremation burial that was later that day excavated by archaeologists.

THE
LENBOROUGH
HOARD

The largest reported Anglo-Saxon/Viking hoard of silver pennies that was recovered from the soil at our Xmas special dig at Lenborough, worth £1.35 million.
