The farm’s crop of oilseed rape has long since been harvested and the ground turned over. Bales of winter wheat straw waiting to be picked up by the loader.

A vacant and abandoned combine harvester as heavy rain showers slow down progress.

The pot holed farm track stretches for nearly three miles across this farm and most has been improved with crushed hard core.

The rain was sorely needed and timely rain certainly helps soil preparation as now most of the crops are off and cultivation begins. August 10th

Huge fields with disappearing horizons give you hundreds of acres to search but still more fields need harvesting and typical August showers hamper hold back the massive harvester.
