JOINING THE CLUB
BECOMING A WEEKEND WANDERER
We are always pleased to have new members join our friendly club so for that reason we have made it easy to join the Weekend Wanderers. Membership is on an annual basis and runs for twelve months from the month that you join which has to be renewed. Once you are a Weekend Wanderers member you can expect to receive regular information of where & when we will be digging.
The dig information usually features includes where we are digging with research & history notes. The annual fee is just £15 and your newsletter is sent only by e-mail so we will need your up to date e-mail address. Please let us know as soon as your e-mail address has altered. A receipt is sent when you have paid for either new membership or for membership renewal.
We will e-mail you a reminder that your subscriptions are due but if your membership lapses for over a month, you drop off the e-mail list and will have to reapply to join the club.
In the event that your e-mails stop please let me know as soon as possible rather than leave it for months. There could be an unforeseen problem such as our mail ending up in your spam folder or even an incorrectly typed e-mail address which is a common fault. That is why we ask you to e-mail us when you join and especially when you renew so that we can copy & paste your e-mail address onto our database.
As farmers often make last minute changes, dig details are normally sent just a few days before a weekend dig. If your e-mail has not arrived by Saturday phone 01256 702255 for recorded details and call on Wednesday for details of Thursday meetings.
Return your application form with your name & address, contact numbers, e-mail address, fee and a photo with your FID/NCMD number on the back. The main requirement that we ask is that you are members of the Federation of Independent Detectorists (FID) or the National Council for Metal Detectorists (NCMD) which you must renew annually. Membership to either gives you public liability insurance to £5 million.
We will then send your new Weekend Wanderers membership card with further details about the club. All cheques should be made payable to Peter Welch and sent to PO BOX 7367 Hook Hampshire RG27 7FA

Photographs are constantly being added as members frequently e-mail images of their finds from previous digs & of course we need your finds too.
Please reduce your file sizes before e-mailing them and take your shots with low megapixels. Remember to add the date and place where your finds were made and say if it ok or not to include your name in the write up. Thanks!
